Teeth Whitening Services Toledo

You go to the dentist for regular cleanings and checkups; you brush your teeth twice a day and floss regularly. That should be all it takes to keep your smile white and vibrant, right? Unfortunately, even the best cared for teeth can become yellow or discolored over time. Brushing, flossing and regular dentist appointments can help prolong your white smile, but eventually your aging teeth will go from pearly white to dull yellow.

One-Size-Fits-All Whitening Kits are not for Everyone

Light Touch Dental Care can help brighten your smile with our professional teeth whitening services. Unlike over-the-counter teeth whitening kits, we can get your teeth back to a vibrant white in just one visit instead of having to treat your teeth for several days before seeing any results. We also know first-hand that no two smiles are the same. With that in mind, why would you choose a teeth whitening kit that is one-size-fits-all? These kits are not nearly as effective as laser teeth whitening or teeth bleaching that can be done in the dentist office. They can also cause tooth sensitivity, so are not ideal if you are looking for teeth whitening for sensitive teeth.

At Light Touch Dental Care, we want all of our patients to feel comfortable and confident with their smiles. Celebrities have been taking advantage of teeth bleaching and laser teeth whitening technology for years in order to help maintain their pearly whites. Schedule an appointment with Light Touch Dental care today, and see how we treat every patient like a celebrity!

Why Is It Difficult To Maintain A Vibrant White Smile?

Stained or discolored teeth are common in adults of all ages. There are several reasons why this happens. Although regular cleanings, brushing and flossing can help delay the discoloration, it does not prevent it from happening. Here are few of the most common things that can cause discolored or yellow teeth.

  • Food and beverages like coffee, red wine, tea and soda
  • Smoking or using any Tabaco products.
  • Medication including certain antihistamines, antipsychotics and high blood pressure medications.
  • The natural aging process of your teeth.

The real key to maintaining a long-lasting, bright, white smile is to trust Light Touch Dental Care with all of your dental needs. Our friendly, highly skilled staff will make you feel like family and our expert dental care services will help you maintain your pearly white, confident smile for years to come.Call today to set up an appointment and learn more about your teeth whitening options.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

There is so much you can do to maintain your beautiful smile! Our first tip would be to avoid highly acidic foods and beverages. These include, but are not limited to: red wine, soda pop, lemons, berries, and coffee. If you do consume any of these foods, it’s best to brush your teeth immediately, or at the very least swish some water or mouth wash around your mouth.

For more reasons than one, we suggest you eliminate or lessen any tobacco use. This is not only to maintain your bright smile, but to also keep your teeth and gums healthy.

This may seem obvious, but maintaining a stellar oral hygiene routine is crucial to keep your smile white and bright. Brush and floss at least twice daily to help remove plaque and any stains on your teeth.

After an in-office treatment, we typically like to see our patients a few days after to make sure there is no unwanted sensitivity or discomfort.
The two main side effects of teeth whitening treatments are: increased tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. These side effects are usually temporary and will go away after a couple days. If you experience discomfort beyond that, we suggest you make an appointment for us to take a closer look. One way to help decrease tooth sensitivity is to use toothpaste made for sensitive teeth. These products help alleviate pain by lessening your teeth’s nerve endings.
In most cases, no. Dental insurance does not usually cover any teeth whitening treatment (we are pretty bummed about it too!).
That will mainly depend on how well you take care of your smile after your treatment. Teeth whitening is not permanent and, as we said above, acidic foods and drinks, tobacco, and poor dental hygiene can fade your white smile quickly. Everyone’s smile is unique, so there is no set time frame for when you will need a touch up. If you properly care for your teeth, you could go a couple years before wanting another treatment.
No! Studies show that whitening products that contain 10% concentration of peroxide, or less, have minuscule to no effect on the health of your enamel.
